Aisling Bea

Aisling is an Irish-born comedian, who's been performing for some time. Born in Kildare, Ireland on 16th March 1984. She was on QI together as well as Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan (born 16 March 1984), better known as Aisling Bea, is an Irish actress writer and comedian. Bea's acting career started in the year the year 2011 when she began her career as a comic following her appearance in a few parts for Irish and British TV series starting in the year 2009. In 2012, she began appearing in sketch comedy shows as well as sitcoms and similar programming. Following her win at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began being booked frequently for numerous panel shows for which she has become a fixture. In 2016 and 2017 she was the team leader on 8 Out of 10 Cats. Additionally, she was an actress on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. She was the daughter of Brian as well as Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister named Sinead. She was in 2012 the only woman in history to be awarded the So You Think That You're Funny award. Bea is her surname in honor of her deceased father. Aisling Cliodhnadh was born on March 16, 1984, in Kildare Town, County Kildare. Bea's father Brian was an equine vet who took his own life at the age of three. Bea didn't learn how her father died until after she reached the age of thirteen. Bea adopted the stage name Bea to pay tribute to her father and wrote an article for The Guardian in 2017 about the family's suicide experience. Bea (and her younger sister Sinead) was raised in a home by Helen Moloney, who was a school instructor and trainer of jockeys who was a professional jockey. The family was racing and horse-related. When she was a child, Bea was an assistant tour guide at the Irish National Stud however she realized at an early age that she wasn't keen on the sport of racing for a profession, but instead was a performer.
